Many of us have come into the realization of who the Holy Spirit is in our lives. The scripture says in John 14:16 and I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever. AMP
We have come to know the Holy Spirit by this scripture. But there is a part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit that shows us of things to come. This is not just the prophetic. It is a part of the Godhead we need to be refreshed in over and over again until we yield to it. We can lean on the Holy Spirit to reveal the future to us personally. Yes, I am talking about your future.
One example of this is when Noah heard from God to build the ark. This was something he had never seen or heard of before. They had never seen rain! Yet Noah did not ignore what God was revealing and was proactive in carrying out the vision. In doing so he was able to save his family and all creation. God used one man to do that! Noah was able to build this ark which took a hundred years and protected his family’s future.
Another example is when Joseph interpreted the dream of Pharaoh. Here God had a plan to save a whole nation, to keep them in plenty, prosperity and goodness. Joseph followed that very detailed plan and when the seven years of famine came the nation was ready. He knew the future and planned accordingly.
As sons of God we need to be expecting the Holy Spirit to show us things to come. Our future could be more or less blessed by how much of the future we can grab hold of and be out ahead. The scripture says that this is attainable. In John 16:13 is says But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]. AMP
This is a promise to us! We have access to the conversations of the Godhead! For example, in the life of our son, Dan, there was a time after his accident that the Doctor wanted to place a pump within his body to distribute the medication he needed due to his physical condition. This was pushed on us as their “god” to help in recovery of spasticity and tone issues within his muscles. The Spirit of the Lord woke me up and said for me to be like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and do not bow down but trust Me to bring him into total wholeness. Since that time God has changed his muscle tone and he is not on any medication as of this day. The Holy Spirit can speak in a variety of ways if we yield to Him on a daily basis.
There is a higher wisdom from the Spirit. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6.6-7. Yet when we are among the full-grown (spiritually mature Christians who are ripe in understanding), we do impart a [higher] wisdom (the knowledge of the divine plan previously hidden); but it is indeed not a wisdom of this present age or of this world nor of the leaders and rulers of this age, who are being brought to nothing and are doomed to pass away. But rather what we are setting forth is a wisdom of God once hidden [from the human understanding] and now revealed to us by God—[that wisdom] which God devised and decreed before the ages for our glorification [to lift us into the glory of His presence].AMP As in the case of Dan, God's wisdom was above the wisdom of doctors.
The Spirit of God wants to lead you in happy paths. In Hebrews 12:12-13 it says so then, brace up and reinvigorate and set right your slackened and weakened and drooping hands and strengthen your feeble and palsied and tottering knees, And cut through and make firm and plain and smooth, straight paths for your feet [yes, make them safe and upright and happy paths that go in the right direction], so that the lame and halting [limbs] may not be put out of joint, but rather may be cured. AMP
Many people are following the path of the world system but the Spirit can bring you into a happy path of wealth, health and total wholeness as we yield to Him. We need to start making room for the Holy Spirit not by just reading the Word but by revelation that He is a personal God. He is preparing us for something so divine, way out beyond what we can imagine, think, see or hear by our own selves. It's all about Him. He is going to fill every aspect of us with His presence. It's a progressive consciousness of His presence that makes us aware that He is always there revealing our future.
He wants to get personal with each one of us. He wants us to walk with Him every day all day long. There is a perception that some people can work with the Holy Ghost more easily because of their personality. Several people in the Word were close to God but had different personalities. Remember, God is no respecter of persons. They not only walked close with God and had His wisdom, but they knew the future. If we review the lives of Moses, Isaiah, and Jeremiah, they each had a different calling and a different temperament but they had one thing in common – Spiritual Receptivity. They were aware of God, not just for themselves but of God all day long. By the leading of His Spirit they were able to fulfill God’s destiny for their life.
How much Spiritual Receptivity are you walking in on a daily basis? There is no end to God. We should always be going higher in the Lord and be open to be receptive to His leading. How do we do this? By spending time in the quiet place and developing an intimate relationship with God. We need to seek His Face and not His Hand. It's all about our intimacy with Him. It's all about what He wants and not our agenda. It's all about knowing Him so well that His desires become our desires. He is not in moved by our circumstances but by our position in Him as sons. He is moved by our faith in Him and He is willing to reveal to us our future. We need to understand that the future is now and now is the time to advance His Kingdom. It’s time for our spiritual receptivity to go to a new level as we usher in the glory of God!
